Initiated in 1983, Ragi Group started its operations as ASHOK HARDWARE AGENCIES from Siliguri, a small City in West Bengal popularly known as The Gateway of Northeast India.

Since its inception, Ragi Group has faced many challenges and with continuous effort and hard work over the years it continued to sustain till the phenomenal journey began as listed below year wise.

In the year 1997, Younger generations joined the lead with Mr. Pawan Agarwal (Our Present Chairman) joining the business and taking the command of developing the group from a mere local sanitation business to a regional player by catering to the areas of North Bengal, Sikkim & Bhutan with the help of Mr. Rajesh Agarwal ( Our Present MD).The Group started its first Showroom cum Display Center at Siliguri and the focused approach towards the growth path led to a well-defined business center in the region.

In the year 2006, Ragi Group took its biggest step towards massive expansion to spread its wings to the entire Eastern part of India by simultaneously launching its operations at Kolkata & Guwahati. Kolkata being the largest market of Eastern India was the most challenging to sustain and it took two tough years to set up a stable operating environment.

Guwahati being the core center of North East India had a huge potential and with its vast reach RG settled its operations there too in short span of time.

In 2008, RG was incorporated as a Private Limited Company named Ragi Mercantile Private Limited (RMPL) and both Ashok Hardware Agencies, Siliguri & Balaji Traders, Kolkata became a Unit of Ragi Mercantile Pvt. Ltd.

In 2012, RMPL launched its Showroom at Guwahati and also a small display center at Kolkata, and in the same year Guwahati Branch enriched its vision by expanding from sanitation business to Various
Water Supply Solutions catering to Institutional Business. Looking at the immense opportunities in the field of Environmental Engineering Solution, RMPL stayed focused on the upcoming Governmental Works and that developed the path to Institutional Business in the whole region.

In 2016, RMPL started its Ranchi Branch with huge scope of business development in Jharkhand and associated parts of Bihar and it created a huge market for growth and simultaneously Bhubaneswar operations were started to cater to the state of Odisha.

Ragi Group is coming up with exclusive mega Showrooms at Kolkata, Siliguri & Guwahati for showcasing its premium products and is underway in creation and development of its own Brand.

With a turnover of INR 175 Crores in the year 2019-20, RMPL Continues to grow at a fast pace and with its continuous and dedicated customer service and satisfaction it aims above and beyond.
